Ingredients
  • 3 ½ ounces Crafted Creations Mesquite Flat Iron Steak, cooked to medium rare and thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons prepared barbeque sauce
  • 1 slice pepper jack cheese (.75 oz.)
  • 3 frozen onion rings, baked
  • 2 thick slices of Texas toast, oven toasted

This recipe is Southwestern delicatessen-inspired, combining thinly sliced prepared flat iron steak, pepper jack cheese, BBQ sauce and crispy fried onions. All that goodness is then piled high in between two pieces of Texas toast. You’ll need two hands keep from getting bucked of your seat while enjoying this sandwich.

  1. Sear flat iron over medium heat with 1 tablespoon vegetable oil for 4-5 minutes on each side. Let steak rest; then slice thinly.
  2. On a sheet tray lined with parchment paper, loosely stack 5-6 slices of steak, pour BBQ sauce over top and finish it with cheese. On the same sheet tray, place 2 slices Texas toast, heat in a 350⁰F oven for 3-5 minutes until cheese is melted and bread is crusty.
  3. Place steak and cheese combo on one slice of bread, add onion rings and top with second slice of Texas toast.
