Carnitas Torta

  • 1 package Tyson® Crafted Creations® Pork Shoulder for Carnitas
  • 4 buns, toasted
  • 1 c shredded green cabbage
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 1 red onion, sliced into rings
  • 1/2 c crumbled queso fresco
Cilantro Mayonnaise
  • 1 c mayonnaise
  • 1 c fresh cilantro leaves, packed
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp lime juice
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Slow-cooked Pork Shoulder for Carnitas shredded and pan-crisped, layered in a butter-toasted Kaiser roll with queso fresco and a slaw of green cabbage, tomato, red onion, cilantro mayonnaise and fresh lime.

  1. Cook the pork shoulder according to package instructions. When the pork is finished, shred half of the pork using two forks and keep warm in the natural juices. Reserve the second half for another meal.
  2. Combine all the ingredients of the cilantro mayonnaise in a blender and pulse until well combined. Divide the mayonnaise in the toasted buns and layer the sandwich with pork, cabbage, tomato slices, onion rings and cheese.
